I'd rather be out playing, but my duties at State Farm have lured & trapped me here. I was going through some old picture folders, as I usually do when I'm feeling nostalgic and missing my favorites, when I found the folder with pictures from our Little Tokyo field trip when we were juniors. (Hazel, if you are reading this, please please please try and find those pictures I gave you senior year for our ad that you have!!!) When I see/think about thee sable, all I can do is laugh & smile. That car was so symbolic of our high school careers!! We were a tight knit ride or die crew in that baby. It brought us the best of times & near death experiences (although not as bad as when we rode with Julia!! hahaha half kidding Julz) We mobbed everywhere together and never had to worry about if there were enough seats BECAUSE IT SEATED 6! HOLLA!! When we couldn't ride in Thad's luxuriously murdered out aviator, the sable always pulled through as a backup. I was pretty sad when Matty sold it when he moved to Diamond Bar, in fear that it wouldn't pull through like it always did and break down. Anywho, since no one is really posting anymore, please log in and write your favorite sable memories! =) Don't forget to sign your name under what your write or in the comments bc it all posts as us as whole.
Fill in the blank: My favorite memory in/of the sable is..........................

Gina's faves:
-I think it was sometime during junior year (04-05) when I held a carwash at my house for everyone who always drove me around everywhere since I was such a brat and didn't drive haha. I clearly remember my stomach sinking as Matt drove the boat into my driveway while Frank laughed and said "look at the doo doo tho". Never ever in my life have I seen so much crunchy and nasty bird poop accumulated on the WHOLE ENTIRE CAR! I mean, the hood, windshield, roof, back window and trunk---not to mention the bumpers even had like ancient pooh all over.
-I, too, vividly remember that nasty yellow vasoline lotion bottle that was in the back pocket of the drivers seat. Even if you wanted to get lotion out of there, you would have to open the bottle bc the push spout thing was covered up with dry lotion clumps.
-Yvonne, Hazel & I went to pick Joycie up one afternoon; we mobbed deep through OUR jack in the box drive thru, 7eleven & all around country club. I miss squeezing in the front seat and listening to 'one wish' & 'get up'.
-Back when I didn't drive, I would marvel at how Matty could control that boat with his pointer finger hahahahah! The steering wheel had chunks missing out of the grip & the shifter was next to the steering wheel.
-Yovs already mentioned the time when Matty rear ended Thad after a football game. I so desperately wanted to hold up the bumper with Hazel & Yovs to take a picture, but Matt was so pissed. He just stuffed the bumper into the backseat of the sable (yes, the sable was so big that the bumper fit inside) and we still went to go eat at in n out. That marked the beginning of a new era: white sable, black bumper!!
-Of courseeee one of my favorite memories is of our first trip to SD together. We drove alllll over SD; hit the beaches, visited UCSD, went to Pacific Beach & carried all of our stuff in the sable. I miss it =(

I find it hard to narrow it down to a singe memory seeing as the mighty Sable was like another member of our group. I can still picture that car/boat/member as if it were parked right outside of my house right now. Between the chewed up steering wheel with the in n out sticker or the old rotten lotion bottle in the back seat that was there since i met matt, there are too many good and bad memories in that thing. I swear that thing was like our batmobile. that thing was such a trooper. how many accidents has that thing encountered. I can recall three near death experiences and that thing still runs fine. i think it was a questionable decision when matt decided to sell it. but anyways, for my favorite memory i cannot narrow it down to just one. It would be between the first car ride ever with matt how he ran a redlight then hid from the police, or the trip to morongo after grad night, or matts face when they were driving back from the car crash at joyces house, or maybe the japanese trip. I guess what im trying to say is that there is no one memory that stands out to me because i felt like every time i entered that car i was creating another big memory.
end note: the sable was a trooper.

nice memories you guys. i dont really have many memories with that car. the only ones i have is when during the time i was going out with matt. i do remember crashing it though... til this day i still haven't forgiven myself even though everyone jokes around about it. i just remember pissing off matt even though he said he wasnt and franks scared ass face. pretty sad memory... i think i was the first one to break the bumper :( im still SO SORRY no matter what anyone says. i also remember all the times matt picked me up in that car from pepper practice and driving my ass home. it was always so hot cause i guess the AC didnt work. dont really remember... and matt would be all sweaty then i'd have to kiss him byeee haha. i remember all the fights we had in that car too... and other stuff but we wont go there lol. ladys dont kiss and tell... well SOME ladys!
anywhoo great times in that car
OH one more memory. i remember matt wanted to take me to one of my pepper sleep overs and i had to tell my parents "oh i have a ride" because they didnt know we were going out. then on my way out my alley my dad said "I'LL WALK YOU!" AHHH!HAHAH the look on matts face was priceless because he didnt expect that. he had to pop the trunk to put my stuff in it and it was sooo DIRRRTY! of course matt didnt say ONE WORD but i dont blame him. my dad is pretty scary. i think thats it. so yeaa thats all.

Yvonne's faves: my favorite sable moment was one time we were hanging out at lex's cedar house and i think we were hungry or something so matt let me, gina, and hazel take the sable to go get food. sidenote: we all sat in the front seat and took turns driving. booyy did we have an adventure on our mission to get food. i remember driving around country club and stopping to take pictures in front of "our future houses". my other favorite sable moment was when matt rear-ended thads aviator...thad's car came out unharmed; meanwhile the sable's bummer fell off.. bwahah. i miiiisss that car, but matty's new car, blue magic, is a keeper too. he only has one seatbeat buckle so when you ride in the front seat with him you have to interlace the seat belts together!! :)

Hazel's faves: So many good memories of "VICTORIA." Well my fondest memories of the sable have already been mentioned. The big chunk missing from the steering wheel, the saggy ceiling, the nasty crusty Vaseline lotion bottle in the back seat pocket, the broken bumper, the messy trunk (and every time it was opened it smelled like sour feet and sweat), and the pooopoos all over the car.
I believe my first time riding in the car was on the way back from Little Tokyo, Junior year.
Song for the ride: Hate it or Love it (with the lovely underdog tees to go with it.) I was so scared to move in that car because everything seemed nastyyy from that lotion bottle, to the very questionable crusty stain in the back seat. But as time went on we all grew to looove the sable and we became very comfortable with it.
I will never forget the beautiful summer day we all spent in the BK.
Song of the summer: I'M SPRUNG. We took a trip to Best Buy, Rite Aid, went back to Lex's and while the boys were playing beedjyo games and watching Ongbok, the girls (Vagina, Yovs, & myself) were itching to drive because we were still learning. We didn't dare to ask Lex for the keys to the Benz so we hit up Mafew for thee sable. I remember he was scared to hand over the keys but he was so distracted on the game or movie he gave it up ( I am really going into detail with this story.) Anywayyy, got the keys and the three of us decided to sit in the front because we could fit. We took turns driving along Long Beach Blvd. I remember when it was my turn, I was making a right out of the 7 eleven and ended up driving in a non-existing lane for quite some time. ooops. Picked up Joycie, she hopped in the car and went to Jack in the Box to get some fooods. Drove through Country Club and took pictures of ourselves in front of our dream houses (with disposable cameras.) I was so relaxed driving that car, which gave me a lot of confidence. Probably cause I knew if I had put a dent in it or something, it wouldn't have been noticeable :)
Then there was the trip to Whale's Vagina.
Song of the weekend:Like You. It was nice to be able to stretch out and relax in a big back seat. Gina, Yvonne, and myself once again wound up in the front seat, driving us all to the football game. I remember Alex and Matt messing with us; playing with our hair, tickling our ears, and I think even tryna put some of that lotion on our hair. When started to get distracted it caused us to swerve and they yelled at us. After the game, Matt's nasty ass was all sweaty and we had to sit in the car with him. STINKY STANK.
Last great memory I can think of, of the sable. Getting reared while we were in T-Had's car.hahahahaha. Stupid Matt always thinks its funny to get right on someone's ass. I don't remember what the dumb ass did, but it ended up messing up rearing Thad's car and messing up the sable instead.HAHA idiot! Yes yes, we wanted to take a picture of the bumper but I guess it was a sensitive subject at the time.haha. Shouldve done it anyway.
Well yeah, everything was pretty much said already, I just went into a bit more detail. That car treated us goood and got us to where we needed to be. However, I don't want the other 2 cars to think we forgot about them.
Lex's Nightrider, the Mercedes Benz Kompressor & Frank's "vintage" Toyota Camry with the prescription windows; You were good to us too. Thanks for the memories you three ;)
Miss and love you all
<3 Hazel
p.s. Happy 21st Birfday weekend, Frank Oliver Gundran. I wish I could be there with you all to celebrate :(
